How Your Americas Cornerstones Apparel Is Made

Every Cornerstone apparel product is made to order, not just pulled from a shelf and shipped. Understanding how that works, and why certain decoration methods were chosen, explains a lot about why the finished product feels the way it does.

Made to order, not pre-stocked

Nothing in the Americas Cornerstones catalog is manufactured in advance. Each order triggers a production process to create your product based on your order's specific size, color, and design. Production runs 2 to 7 business days, the tradeoff for zero mass-produced inventory sitting in a warehouse.

Preparing a garment for direct-to-garment printing on an industrial DTG printer

Direct-to-garment printing for the back graphics

The Standard and Statement Tees use direct-to-garment (DTG) printing for the back graphic. A DTG printer applies water-based ink directly into the fabric's fibers with an industrial inkjet process. The ink becomes part of the fabric rather than a separate layer applied on top, which is why a DTG print has a soft hand-feel instead of the raised, slightly rubbery texture of a heat-pressed vinyl or DTF (direct-to-film) transfer, and why it holds up without peeling or cracking at the edges over time. It also renders fine detail and small text cleanly, which matters given how text-heavy the Americas Cornerstones designs are.

Embroidery for the chest logo and the Classics

The embroidered "Americas Cornerstones" logo on the Statement Tee's front left chest, and the full embroidery on the Cornerstone Classics, is stitched thread by thread on industrial embroidery machines rather than printed. Before stitching starts, the garment is stretched into a hoop to hold the fabric taut and perfectly positioned, which keeps the stitching clean and prevents the fabric from shifting or puckering mid-design. Embroidery was the only option for the Classics: on heavier fleece and hoodie fabric, a premium mark needed the depth and durability that only stitched thread provides.

Why the decoration method is not an afterthought

DTG and Embroidery each do one job well and the other job poorly. DTG prints large, detailed graphics with a soft hand-feel but is not the most durable choice for a small, high-contact area like a chest logo. Embroidery is extremely durable and dimensional but is not practical for large, detailed back graphics with fine text. Using each method where it performs best, rather than one method everywhere, is why a Standard Tee's back graphic and a Statement Tee's chest logo feel intentional rather than interchangeable.

A production partner, not a shortcut

Americas Cornerstones products are fulfilled through Printful's professional production network, using the same industrial DTG and embroidery equipment used across the apparel industry. Made to order through a specialized production partner is how a small, profession-focused apparel brand can offer premium decoration methods and true one-at-a-time production without the overhead of running an in-house garment factory.
